About Silent Magician
Silent Magician is an Effect Monster, printed as RA02-EN012 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II (2024) as a Quarter Century Secret Rare. It is a Level 4 LIGHT Spellcaster monster with 1,000 ATK and 1,000 DEF. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II followed in 2024 with another list of tournament staples, again with every card in several rarities. Ungraded, this printing ranks 39th of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.
Character and collecting appeal
Spellcasters have been popular since Dark Magician, and the Type has some of the most sought-after artwork in the game. Its effect centres on negating cards and effects, Special Summoning and destroying cards. It cannot be Normal Summoned, so it has to be brought out by its own conditions.
Version and identification
Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN012. RA02-EN012 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Quarter Century Secret Rare version. Quarter Century Secret Rares were introduced for the game's 25th anniversary. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Silent Magician: RA02-EN012 Collector's Rare (€3.96), RA02-EN012 Platinum Secret Rare (€0.87), RA02-EN012 Secret Rare (€0.77), RA02-EN012 Super Rare (€0.90), RA02-EN012 Ultimate Rare (€0.95) and RA02-EN012 Ultra Rare (€1.44). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Grading and population
A PSA 10 sells for 18.4× the ungraded price and 2.6× a PSA 9. That gap is big enough that grading a sharp, well-centred copy can pay for itself. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.
Investment potential
In its favour: a price well below its May 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (41 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.
Before you buy
Expect to pay around €6.98 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €49.04. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN012 and the Quarter Century Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
