Ungraded, this printing ranks 45th of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.

Character and collecting appeal

Dragons are the most collected monster Type in Yu-Gi-Oh!, largely thanks to Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes. Its effect centres on negating cards and effects and destroying cards. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN036. RA02-EN036 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Quarter Century Secret Rare version. Quarter Century Secret Rares were introduced for the game's 25th anniversary. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy: RA02-EN036 Collector's Rare (€2.46), RA02-EN036 Platinum Secret Rare (€1.12), RA02-EN036 Secret Rare (€0.62), RA02-EN036 Super Rare (€0.77), RA02-EN036 Ultimate Rare (€0.73) and RA02-EN036 Ultra Rare (€1.44). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 9.7× the ungraded price and 2× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its August 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (25 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 75% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €6.58 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €32.53. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN036 and the Quarter Century Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
