Character and collecting appeal
Dragons are the most collected monster Type in Yu-Gi-Oh!, largely thanks to Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes. In play, it is a card for Special Summoning and returning cards to the hand or Deck. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design.
Version and identification
Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN039. RA02-EN039 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Quarter Century Secret Rare version. Quarter Century Secret Rares were introduced for the game's 25th anniversary. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres: RA02-EN039 Collector's Rare (€3.27), RA02-EN039 Platinum Secret Rare (€2.23), RA02-EN039 Secret Rare (€0.53), RA02-EN039 Super Rare (€0.61), RA02-EN039 Ultimate Rare (€0.82) and RA02-EN039 Ultra Rare (€1.29). Grading and population
A PSA 10 sells for 9.5× the ungraded price and 1.9× a PSA 9. That gap is big enough that grading a sharp, well-centred copy can pay for itself. Even pack-fresh modern cards can have surface scratches or curling foil, so a 10 is never guaranteed.
Investment potential
In its favour: a price well below its March 2025 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (25 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 61% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.
Before you buy
Expect to pay around €7.12 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €36.36. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN039 and the Quarter Century Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
