I:P Masquerena [Quarter Century Secret Rare] #RA02-EN042 collector guide

About I:P Masquerena

I:P Masquerena is a Link Monster, summoned from the Extra Deck using other monsters as Link Material, printed as RA02-EN042 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II (2024) as a Quarter Century Secret Rare. It is a DARK Cyberse monster with 800 ATK. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II followed in 2024 with another list of tournament staples, again with every card in several rarities. Ungraded, this printing ranks 12th of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.

Character and collecting appeal

Cyberse monsters come from the VRAINS era and are closely tied to Link Summoning. Its text is about destroying cards. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN042. RA02-EN042 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Quarter Century Secret Rare version. Quarter Century Secret Rares were introduced for the game's 25th anniversary. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of I:P Masquerena: RA02-EN042 Collector's Rare (€4.68), RA02-EN042 Platinum Secret Rare (€5.80), RA02-EN042 Secret Rare (€2.45), RA02-EN042 Super Rare (€2.02), RA02-EN042 Ultimate Rare (€4.43) and RA02-EN042 Ultra Rare (€2.01). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Magnificent Monsters, which we track separately.

The most valuable is Magnificent Monsters MAMO-EN029 Starlight Rare at €35.69.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 5.7× the ungraded price and 2.9× a PSA 9. That gap is big enough that grading a sharp, well-centred copy can pay for itself. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its June 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; it is the original printing, which reprints rarely replace for collectors; an active market (47 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €21.05 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €41.02. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN042 and the Quarter Century Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
