Solemn Judgment [Platinum Secret Rare] #RA02-EN075 collector guide

About Solemn Judgment

Solemn Judgment is a Counter Trap Card, printed as RA02-EN075 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II (2024) as a Platinum Secret Rare. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II followed in 2024 with another list of tournament staples, again with every card in several rarities. Ungraded, this printing ranks 83rd of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.

Character and collecting appeal

Solemn Judgment can stop almost any summon, Spell or Trap at the cost of half your Life Points, and it has been a competitive staple since 2002. Its text is about negating cards and effects and destroying cards.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN075. RA02-EN075 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Platinum Secret Rare version. Platinum Secret Rares are a newer Secret Rare variant with a platinum-coloured finish. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Solemn Judgment: RA02-EN075 Collector's Rare (€3.32), RA02-EN075 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€14.07), RA02-EN075 Secret Rare (€1.78), RA02-EN075 Super Rare (€1.78), RA02-EN075 Ultimate Rare (€1.78) and RA02-EN075 Ultra Rare (€2.50). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Metal Raiders, which we track separately.

The most valuable is Metal Raiders MRD-E127 1st Edition at €80.05.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 6× the ungraded price and 1.2× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its December 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; lasting fame from the anime or the competitive game; an active market (28 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 42% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic; reprints in another set, which keep playable copies easy to find. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €4.45 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €22.11. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN075 and the Platinum Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
