About Skull Meister

Skull Meister is an Effect Monster, printed as RA02-EN005 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II (2024) as a Secret Rare. It is a Level 4 DARK Fiend monster with 1,700 ATK and 400 DEF. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II followed in 2024 with another list of tournament staples, again with every card in several rarities. Ungraded, this printing ranks 401st of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.

Character and collecting appeal

Fiends are one of the largest Types in the game, home to many of its darker and more unusual designs. Its effect centres on negating cards and effects and sending cards to the Graveyard. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN005. RA02-EN005 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Secret Rare version. Secret Rares have a rainbow-foil name and diagonal holographic artwork. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Skull Meister: RA02-EN005 Collector's Rare (€1.67), RA02-EN005 Platinum Secret Rare (€1.25), RA02-EN005 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€7.37), RA02-EN005 Super Rare (€0.46), RA02-EN005 Ultimate Rare (€0.55) and RA02-EN005 Ultra Rare (€1.06). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Price history

Over the last 12 months ungraded copies are down 52%, and flat in the last month. Its highest monthly ungraded value was €1.86 in July 2024, 67% above today. PSA 10 copies have moved down 13% over the same 12 months. Of the 7 printings of Skull Meister we track, this one ranks 5th by ungraded value. The most valuable is 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II RA02-EN005 Quarter Century Secret Rare at €7.37.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 48.4× the ungraded price and 4.8× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its July 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (25 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 52% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €0.62 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €6.24. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN005 and the Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
