Character and collecting appeal

Warriors are one of the oldest and largest Types, and have had support in almost every era of the game. Its text is about negating cards and effects, Special Summoning and destroying cards. It cannot be Normal Summoned, so it has to be brought out by its own conditions.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN011. RA02-EN011 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Ultra Rare version. Ultra Rares have a gold-foil name and holographic artwork. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Silent Swordsman: RA02-EN011 Collector's Rare (€1.34), RA02-EN011 Platinum Secret Rare (€0.45), RA02-EN011 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€2.03), RA02-EN011 Secret Rare (€0.27), RA02-EN011 Super Rare (€0.28) and RA02-EN011 Ultimate Rare (€0.29). Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 28.4× the ungraded price and 4.2× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: steady demand, with ungraded prices up 36% in a year; an active market (23 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €1.20 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €8.02. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN011 and the Ultra Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
