Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, Elder Entity N'tss, Gladiator Beast Gyzarus and Guardian Chimera mention Polymerization in their text, among other cards, which keeps it relevant.
Version and identification
Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN047. RA02-EN047 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Secret Rare version. Secret Rares have a rainbow-foil name and diagonal holographic artwork. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Polymerization: RA02-EN047 Collector's Rare (€1.61), RA02-EN047 Platinum Secret Rare (€1.09), RA02-EN047 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€7.07), RA02-EN047 Super Rare (€0.71), RA02-EN047 Ultimate Rare (€0.70) and RA02-EN047 Ultra Rare (€1.51). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon and Quarter Century Bonanza, which we track separately.
Price history
Today an ungraded copy of this printing sells for about €0.62, a PSA 9 for €17.84 and a PSA 10 for €29.77. Our monthly prices for it go back to May 2024. The most valuable is Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon LOB-059 1st Edition at €72.35.
Grading and population
A PSA 10 sells for 48× the ungraded price and 1.7× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Even pack-fresh modern cards can have surface scratches or curling foil, so a 10 is never guaranteed.
Investment potential
In its favour: a price well below its March 2025 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (26 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 53% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic; reprints in 2 other sets, which keep playable copies easy to find. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.
Before you buy
Expect to pay around €0.62 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €17.84. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN047 and the Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
