Character and collecting appeal

In play, it is a card for banishing cards.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN052. RA02-EN052 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. This is a misprint, priced separately from correctly printed copies. Make sure the listing photos show the error. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 7 other printings of Gold Sarcophagus: RA02-EN052 Collector's Rare (€2.28), RA02-EN052 Platinum Secret Rare (€1.58), RA02-EN052 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€9.25), RA02-EN052 Secret Rare (€0.73), RA02-EN052 Super Rare (€0.62) and RA02-EN052 Ultimate Rare (€0.68), and more. Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Investment potential

Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic; thin trading, so selling quickly can mean accepting a lower price. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €51.25 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN052 clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. At this price fakes are worth checking for: genuine cards have a small holographic seal (the Eye of Anubis) in the bottom-right corner, and the font, colours and card back should match a copy you know is genuine. Look up the certificate number of any graded copy on the grading company's website. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
