Borrelend Dragon [Platinum Secret Rare] #RA02-EN043 collector guide

About Borrelend Dragon

Borrelend Dragon is a Link Monster, summoned from the Extra Deck using other monsters as Link Material, printed as RA02-EN043 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II (2024) as a Platinum Secret Rare. It is a DARK Dragon monster with 3,500 ATK. No monster in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has more ATK. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II followed in 2024 with another list of tournament staples, again with every card in several rarities. Ungraded, this printing ranks 467th of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.

Character and collecting appeal

Dragons are the most collected monster Type in Yu-Gi-Oh!, largely thanks to Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes. Its effect centres on negating cards and effects, Special Summoning and destroying cards. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN043. RA02-EN043 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Platinum Secret Rare version. Platinum Secret Rares are a newer Secret Rare variant with a platinum-coloured finish. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Borrelend Dragon: RA02-EN043 Collector's Rare (€1.49), RA02-EN043 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€2.04), RA02-EN043 Secret Rare (€0.31), RA02-EN043 Super Rare (€0.25), RA02-EN043 Ultimate Rare (€0.25) and RA02-EN043 Ultra Rare (€1.29). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Price history

Over the last 12 months ungraded copies are down 78%, and flat in the last month. Its highest monthly ungraded value was €4.03 in June 2024, 90% above today. PSA 10 copies have moved down 24% over the same 12 months. Of the 7 printings of Borrelend Dragon we track, this one ranks 4th by ungraded value. The most valuable is 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II RA02-EN043 Quarter Century Secret Rare at €2.04.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 70.9× the ungraded price and 4.7× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Even pack-fresh modern cards can have surface scratches or curling foil, so a 10 is never guaranteed.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its June 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (27 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 78% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €0.41 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €6.24. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN043 and the Platinum Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
