About Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon

Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon is an Effect Monster, printed as RA02-EN017 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II (2024) as a Platinum Secret Rare. It is a Level 8 LIGHT Dragon monster with 3,000 ATK and 0 DEF. At its Level it needs two Tributes to Normal Summon. Its ATK is the 4th highest of the 45 monsters in the set. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II followed in 2024 with another list of tournament staples, again with every card in several rarities. Ungraded, this printing ranks 205th of the 564 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II cards we track. The top card is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon at €98.17.

Character and collecting appeal

Cards named Blue-Eyes belong to Seto Kaiba's family of dragons, one of the most collected lines in the game. Its text is about Special Summoning, destroying cards and returning cards to the hand or Deck. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design. Its text names Blue-Eyes White Dragon, so collectors often look for them together.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA02-EN017. RA02-EN017 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Platinum Secret Rare version. Platinum Secret Rares are a newer Secret Rare variant with a platinum-coloured finish. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has 6 other printings of Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon: RA02-EN017 Collector's Rare (€3.02), RA02-EN017 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€5.31), RA02-EN017 Secret Rare (€0.62), RA02-EN017 Super Rare (€0.97), RA02-EN017 Ultimate Rare (€0.89) and RA02-EN017 Ultra Rare (€1.72). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 21.1× the ungraded price and 3.9× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its May 2024 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (26 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 49% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €1.67 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €8.92. Ask the seller to show the code RA02-EN017 and the Platinum Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
