About A Bao A Qu, the Lightless Shadow

A Bao A Qu, the Lightless Shadow is a Link Monster, summoned from the Extra Deck using other monsters as Link Material, printed as MAMO-EN038 in Magnificent Monsters (2026). It is a DARK Fiend monster with 2,800 ATK. Magnificent Monsters is a 2026 set, and its highest rarities include some of the most valuable modern Yu-Gi-Oh! cards we track. Ungraded, this printing ranks 122nd of the 220 Magnificent Monsters cards we track. The top card is Dark Magician, the Pharaoh's Servant at €40,161.

Character and collecting appeal

Fiends are one of the largest Types in the game, home to many of its darker and more unusual designs. Its text is about banishing cards, Special Summoning and destroying cards. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read MAMO-EN038. MAMO-EN038 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. Magnificent Monsters has 2 other printings of A Bao A Qu, the Lightless Shadow: MAMO-EN038 Secret Rare (€0.87) and MAMO-EN038 Starlight Rare (€16.91). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

The most valuable is Magnificent Monsters MAMO-EN038 Starlight Rare at €16.91.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 29.1× the ungraded price and 4.4× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Even pack-fresh modern cards can have surface scratches or curling foil, so a 10 is never guaranteed.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its August 2026 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (25 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €1.21 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €8.02. Ask the seller to show the code MAMO-EN038 clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
