About Jowgen the Spiritualist

Jowgen the Spiritualist is an Effect Monster, printed as LON-EN061 in Labyrinth of Nightmare (2003) as a Rare. It is a Level 3 LIGHT Spellcaster monster with 200 ATK and 1,300 DEF. Labyrinth of Nightmare arrived in early 2003 and is best remembered for Torrential Tribute, Magic Cylinder, Gemini Elf and Dark Necrofear.

Character and collecting appeal

Spellcasters have been popular since Dark Magician, and the Type has some of the most sought-after artwork in the game. In play, it is a card for clearing the field, Special Summoning and discarding.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read LON-EN061. The EN in LON-EN061 marks a later English printing, made after Konami moved every English card to EN codes. Copies with the original LON-061 code are a different printing. It is the Rare version. Rares have a silver-foil name and plain artwork. Labyrinth of Nightmare has 4 other printings of Jowgen the Spiritualist: LON-061 (€1.65), LON-061 1st Edition (€4.23), LON-E061 and LON-E061 1st Edition (€3.51). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Price history

There are no recent sales of this printing of Jowgen the Spiritualist yet, so we cannot give it a value.

Investment potential

In its favour: it comes from the first years of the English game, which are no longer printed. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Ask the seller to show the code LON-EN061 and the Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2003 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
