Surging Sparks Booster Box guide

What's inside the Surging Sparks Booster Box

Each Surging Sparks Booster Box is a factory-sealed display of 36 sealed booster packs, every one of them from Surging Sparks.

About Surging Sparks

A large set whose Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare is its main chase card. Released on 8 November 2024, it belongs to the Scarlet & Violet era. Shops have mostly moved on to newer sets, so sealed stock now comes mainly from resellers.

Surging Sparks has 191 cards in its main numbering, plus 61 secret rares numbered beyond it.

Chase cards to look for

The Surging Sparks cards collectors most want to pull are Pikachu ex and Latias ex. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 6 Hyper Rares, 11 Special Illustration Rares and 23 Illustration Rares. See every Surging Sparks card price for what each is worth.

Surging Sparks Booster Box as an investment

Surging Sparks is out of its main print run, the stage where sealed prices often start to move, but modern sets are printed in large numbers and can be reprinted. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Pikachu ex and Latias ex: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €346.04 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
