Witch of the Black Forest [Platinum Secret Rare] #RA03-EN091 collector guide

About Witch of the Black Forest

Witch of the Black Forest is an Effect Monster, printed as RA03-EN091 in Quarter Century Bonanza (2024) as a Platinum Secret Rare. It is a Level 4 DARK Spellcaster monster with 1,100 ATK and 1,200 DEF. Quarter Century Bonanza, released in late 2024, mixes classic cards from the original series with modern staples, each in several rarities including Quarter Century Secret Rare and Platinum Secret Rare. Ungraded, this printing ranks 383rd of the 968 Quarter Century Bonanza cards we track. The top card is Blue-Eyes White Dragon at €192.99.

Character and collecting appeal

Spellcasters have been popular since Dark Magician, and the Type has some of the most sought-after artwork in the game. Its effect centres on searching the Deck. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design. Musician King mentions Witch of the Black Forest in its text, which keeps it relevant.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA03-EN091. RA03-EN091 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Platinum Secret Rare version. Platinum Secret Rares are a newer Secret Rare variant with a platinum-coloured finish. Quarter Century Bonanza has one other printing of Witch of the Black Forest: RA03-EN091 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€34.76). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Metal Raiders, which we track separately.

Price history

Today an ungraded copy of this printing sells for about €2.96, a PSA 9 for €14.44 and a PSA 10 for €16.94. Our monthly prices for it go back to November 2024. Over the last 12 months ungraded copies are up 52%, and up 19% in the last month. The current price is its high point on our records. PSA 10 copies have moved up 52% over the same 12 months. Of the 6 printings of Witch of the Black Forest we track, this one ranks 4th by ungraded value. The most valuable is Quarter Century Bonanza RA03-EN091 Quarter Century Secret Rare at €34.76.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 5.7× the ungraded price and 1.2× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: steady demand, with ungraded prices up 52% in a year; an active market (26 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic; reprints in another set, which keep playable copies easy to find. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €2.96 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €14.44. Ask the seller to show the code RA03-EN091 and the Platinum Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
