Punishment Dragon [Platinum Secret Rare] #RA03-EN015 collector guide

About Punishment Dragon

Punishment Dragon is an Effect Monster, printed as RA03-EN015 in Quarter Century Bonanza (2024) as a Platinum Secret Rare. It is a Level 8 DARK Dragon monster with 3,000 ATK and 2,600 DEF. Its ATK is the 6th highest of the 179 monsters in the set. Quarter Century Bonanza, released in late 2024, mixes classic cards from the original series with modern staples, each in several rarities including Quarter Century Secret Rare and Platinum Secret Rare. Ungraded, this printing ranks 653rd of the 968 Quarter Century Bonanza cards we track. The top card is Blue-Eyes White Dragon at €192.99.

Character and collecting appeal

Dragons are the most collected monster Type in Yu-Gi-Oh!, largely thanks to Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes. In play, it is a card for banishing cards, Special Summoning and sending cards to the Graveyard. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn. It cannot be Normal Summoned, so it has to be brought out by its own conditions.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA03-EN015. RA03-EN015 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Platinum Secret Rare version. Platinum Secret Rares are a newer Secret Rare variant with a platinum-coloured finish. Quarter Century Bonanza has 6 other printings of Punishment Dragon: RA03-EN015 Collector's Rare (€1.70), RA03-EN015 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€0.45), RA03-EN015 Secret Rare (€1.42), RA03-EN015 Super Rare (€0.21), RA03-EN015 Ultimate Rare (€0.13) and RA03-EN015 Ultra Rare (€1.10). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Price history

PSA 10 copies have moved down 12% over the same 12 months. Of the 7 printings of Punishment Dragon we track, this one ranks 3rd by ungraded value. The most valuable is Quarter Century Bonanza RA03-EN015 Collector's Rare at €1.70.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 24.8× the ungraded price and 4.2× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its June 2025 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (23 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 32% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €1.37 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €8.02. Ask the seller to show the code RA03-EN015 and the Platinum Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
