Version and identification
Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA03-EN051. RA03-EN051 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Quarter Century Secret Rare version. Quarter Century Secret Rares were introduced for the game's 25th anniversary. Quarter Century Bonanza has 6 other printings of Polymerization: RA03-EN051 Collector's Rare (€4.40), RA03-EN051 Platinum Secret Rare (€6.20), RA03-EN051 Secret Rare (€3.35), RA03-EN051 Super Rare (€0.52), RA03-EN051 Ultimate Rare (€3.14) and RA03-EN051 Ultra Rare (€0.67). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon and 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II, which we track separately.
Price history
Today an ungraded copy of this printing sells for about €8.06, a PSA 9 for €30.27 and a PSA 10 for €73.54. Our monthly prices for it go back to November 2024. Over the last 12 months ungraded copies are down 26%, and flat in the last month. Its highest monthly ungraded value was €19.45 in April 2026, 59% above today. The most valuable is Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon LOB-059 1st Edition at €72.35.
Grading and population
A PSA 10 sells for 9.1× the ungraded price and 2.4× a PSA 9. That gap is big enough that grading a sharp, well-centred copy can pay for itself. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.
Investment potential
In its favour: a price well below its April 2026 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; an active market (34 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: falling prices, down 26% in a year; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic; reprints in 2 other sets, which keep playable copies easy to find. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.
Before you buy
Expect to pay around €8.06 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €30.27. Ask the seller to show the code RA03-EN051 and the Quarter Century Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
