Character and collecting appeal

Dragons are the most collected monster Type in Yu-Gi-Oh!, largely thanks to Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes. Its text is about banishing cards, searching the Deck and Special Summoning. Burner, Dragon Ruler of Sparks mentions Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos in its text, which keeps it relevant.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA03-EN010. RA03-EN010 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Secret Rare version. Secret Rares have a rainbow-foil name and diagonal holographic artwork. Quarter Century Bonanza has 7 other printings of Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos: RA03-EN010 Collector's Rare (€2.22), RA03-EN010 Misprint (€28.00), RA03-EN010 Platinum Secret Rare (€2.68), RA03-EN010 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€0.30), RA03-EN010 Super Rare (€0.14) and RA03-EN010 Ultimate Rare (€0.13), and more. Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 21.1× the ungraded price and 4.3× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: steady demand, with ungraded prices up 10% in a year; an active market (25 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €1.75 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €8.68. Ask the seller to show the code RA03-EN010 and the Secret Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
