Hitotsu-Me Giant #MRL-E107 collector guide

History, version, grading and market outlook for this card.

About Hitotsu-Me Giant

Hitotsu-Me Giant is a Normal Monster, with flavour text instead of an effect, printed as MRL-E107 in Magic Ruler (2002) as a Common. It is a Level 4 EARTH Beast-Warrior monster with 1,200 ATK and 1,000 DEF. Magic Ruler was the third English booster set and brought Pegasus's Toon cards into the game. Magic Cards were later renamed Spell Cards and the set was reprinted as Spell Ruler, so Magic Ruler copies are the original printing. Ungraded, this printing ranks 119th of the 321 Magic Ruler cards we track. The top card is Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon at €223.11.

Character and collecting appeal

Beast-Warriors mix animal and warrior designs and have been part of the game since the first sets. With no effect, its appeal is its artwork, its stats and its place in Magic Ruler.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read MRL-E107. The E in MRL-E107 marks the European English printing. The North American printing uses a code without the letter, sometimes with a different card number, and has its own prices. It is the Common version. Commons have a plain name and no foil. It was also printed in Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon and Starter Deck: Kaiba, which we track separately.

Price history

Today an ungraded copy of this printing sells for about €2.59. Our monthly prices for it go back to May 2025. Over the last 12 months ungraded copies are unchanged, and up 1% in the last month. Its highest monthly ungraded value was €4.87 in May 2025, 47% above today. Of the 5 printings of Hitotsu-Me Giant we track, this one ranks 3rd by ungraded value. The most valuable is Starter Deck: Kaiba SDK-002 1st Edition at €6.35.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its May 2025 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; it comes from the first years of the English game, which are no longer printed. Against it: reprints in 2 other sets, which keep playable copies easy to find. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €2.59 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less. Ask the seller to show the code MRL-E107 and the Common finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2002 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
