Mage Power [1st Edition] #LON-E050 collector guide

History, version, grading and market outlook for this card.

About Mage Power

Mage Power is an Equip Spell Card, printed as LON-E050 in Labyrinth of Nightmare (2003) as an Ultra Rare. Labyrinth of Nightmare arrived in early 2003 and is best remembered for Torrential Tribute, Magic Cylinder, Gemini Elf and Dark Necrofear. Ungraded, this printing ranks 19th of the 331 Labyrinth of Nightmare cards we track. The top card is Torrential Tribute at €92.89.

Character and collecting appeal

In play, it is a card for changing ATK and DEF.

Version and identification

This guide covers the 1st Edition printing. The words "1st Edition" are printed below the artwork on the left; copies without them are the Unlimited printing and usually sell for less. Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read LON-E050. The E in LON-E050 marks the European English printing. The North American printing uses a code without the letter, sometimes with a different card number, and has its own prices. It is the Ultra Rare version. Ultra Rares have a gold-foil name and holographic artwork. Labyrinth of Nightmare has 4 other printings of Mage Power: LON-050 (€4.88), LON-050 1st Edition (€12.06), LON-E050 and LON-EN050. Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Quarter Century Bonanza, which we track separately.

Price history

Today an ungraded copy of this printing sells for about €23.91. Our monthly prices for it go back to May 2026. The current price is its high point on our records. Of the 5 printings of Mage Power we track, this is the most valuable ungraded. The cheapest is Quarter Century Bonanza RA03-EN113 Platinum Secret Rare at €3.81.

Investment potential

In its favour: it comes from the 1st Edition run of an early English set, which will never be printed again; it is the original printing, which reprints rarely replace for collectors. Against it: thin trading, so selling quickly can mean accepting a lower price. Past prices do not guarantee future ones. This is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €23.91 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less. Ask the seller to show the code LON-E050, the "1st Edition" text and the Ultra Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2003 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
