Character and collecting appeal

Fiends are one of the largest Types in the game, home to many of its darker and more unusual designs. With no effect, its appeal is its artwork, its stats and its place in Labyrinth of Nightmare.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read LON-EN011. The EN in LON-EN011 marks a later English printing, made after Konami moved every English card to EN codes. Copies with the original LON-011 code are a different printing. It is the Common version. Commons have a plain name and no foil. Labyrinth of Nightmare has 4 other printings of Grand Tiki Elder: LON-011 (€0.39), LON-011 1st Edition (€0.62), LON-E011 and LON-E011 1st Edition. Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Investment potential

In its favour: it comes from the first years of the English game, which are no longer printed. Against it: thin trading, so selling quickly can mean accepting a lower price. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €0.87 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less. Ask the seller to show the code LON-EN011 and the Common finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2003 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
