Fire Sorcerer #LON-EN036 collector guide

History, version, grading and market outlook for this card.

About Fire Sorcerer

Fire Sorcerer is a Flip Effect Monster, whose effect happens when it is flipped face-up, printed as LON-EN036 in Labyrinth of Nightmare (2003) as a Common. It is a Level 4 FIRE Spellcaster monster with 1,000 ATK and 1,500 DEF. Labyrinth of Nightmare arrived in early 2003 and is best remembered for Torrential Tribute, Magic Cylinder, Gemini Elf and Dark Necrofear.

Character and collecting appeal

Spellcasters have been popular since Dark Magician, and the Type has some of the most sought-after artwork in the game. Its text is about banishing cards and dealing damage.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read LON-EN036. The EN in LON-EN036 marks a later English printing, made after Konami moved every English card to EN codes. Copies with the original LON-036 code are a different printing. It is the Common version. Commons have a plain name and no foil. Labyrinth of Nightmare has 4 other printings of Fire Sorcerer: LON-036 (€0.76), LON-036 1st Edition (€0.47), LON-E036 and LON-E036 1st Edition. Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Price history

There are no recent sales of this printing of Fire Sorcerer yet, so we cannot give it a value.

Investment potential

In its favour: it comes from the first years of the English game, which are no longer printed. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Ask the seller to show the code LON-EN036 and the Common finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2003 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
