Fairy Box [1st Edition] #LON-E024 collector guide

History, version, grading and market outlook for this card.

About Fairy Box

Fairy Box is a Continuous Trap Card, printed as LON-E024 in Labyrinth of Nightmare (2003) as a Short Print. Labyrinth of Nightmare arrived in early 2003 and is best remembered for Torrential Tribute, Magic Cylinder, Gemini Elf and Dark Necrofear.

Character and collecting appeal

In play, it is a card for destroying cards, luck, with a coin toss or a dice roll and changing ATK and DEF.

Version and identification

This guide covers the 1st Edition printing. The words "1st Edition" are printed below the artwork on the left; copies without them are the Unlimited printing and usually sell for less. Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read LON-E024. The E in LON-E024 marks the European English printing. The North American printing uses a code without the letter, sometimes with a different card number, and has its own prices. It is the Short Print version. Short Prints look like Commons but were printed in smaller numbers. Labyrinth of Nightmare has 4 other printings of Fairy Box: LON-024 (€1.20), LON-024 1st Edition (€2.19), LON-E024 (€4.69) and LON-EN024. Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

Price history

There are no recent sales of this printing of Fairy Box yet, so we cannot give it a value.

Investment potential

In its favour: it comes from the 1st Edition run of an early English set, which will never be printed again. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Ask the seller to show the code LON-E024, the "1st Edition" text and the Short Print finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2003 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
