Card of Safe Return #LON-EN029 collector guide

History, version, grading and market outlook for this card.

About Card of Safe Return

Card of Safe Return is a Continuous Spell Card, printed as LON-EN029 in Labyrinth of Nightmare (2003) as an Ultra Rare. Labyrinth of Nightmare arrived in early 2003 and is best remembered for Torrential Tribute, Magic Cylinder, Gemini Elf and Dark Necrofear.

Character and collecting appeal

In play, it is a card for drawing cards and Special Summoning.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read LON-EN029. The EN in LON-EN029 marks a later English printing, made after Konami moved every English card to EN codes. Copies with the original LON-029 code are a different printing. It is the Ultra Rare version. Ultra Rares have a gold-foil name and holographic artwork. Labyrinth of Nightmare has 4 other printings of Card of Safe Return: LON-029 (€3.57), LON-029 1st Edition (€12.49), LON-E029 (€12.49) and LON-E029 1st Edition (€28.81). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly. It was also printed in Quarter Century Bonanza, which we track separately.

Price history

There are no recent sales of this printing of Card of Safe Return yet, so we cannot give it a value.

Investment potential

In its favour: it comes from the first years of the English game, which are no longer printed; it is the original printing, which reprints rarely replace for collectors. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Ask the seller to show the code LON-EN029 and the Ultra Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Cards from 2003 often show white wear on the back edges and corners, so ask for photos of the back before you buy.
