Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring [Ultimate Rare] #RA01-EN008 collector guide

About Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring

Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring is a Tuner, used with other monsters to Synchro Summon, printed as RA01-EN008 in 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection (2023) as an Ultimate Rare. It is a Level 3 FIRE Zombie monster with 0 ATK and 1,800 DEF. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection marked the game's 25th anniversary in 2023 by reprinting popular cards, each in several rarities up to the Quarter Century Secret Rare. Ungraded, this printing ranks 45th of the 587 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection cards we track. The top card is Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion at €51.83.

Character and collecting appeal

Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring is one of the most-played hand traps of the modern game, stopping effects that take cards from the Deck. In play, it is a card for negating cards and effects, Special Summoning and sending cards to the Graveyard. It has a Quick Effect, so it can also be used during the opponent's turn. Its once-per-turn limits are typical of modern card design.

Version and identification

Check the code printed below the artwork on the right: it should read RA01-EN008. RA01-EN008 is the English printing. Other languages use their own letters in place of EN, such as DE or FR, and are priced separately. It is the Ultimate Rare version. Ultimate Rares have embossed artwork, borders and card name. 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection has 6 other printings of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring: RA01-EN008 Collector's Rare (€9.57), RA01-EN008 Platinum Secret Rare (€8.06), RA01-EN008 Quarter Century Secret Rare (€40.04), RA01-EN008 Secret Rare (€4.70), RA01-EN008 Super Rare (€3.11) and RA01-EN008 Ultra Rare (€3.91). Each has its own price, so match the code, edition and rarity exactly.

PSA 10 copies have moved sideways over the same 12 months. Of the 7 printings of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring we track, this one ranks 2nd by ungraded value. The most valuable is 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection RA01-EN008 Quarter Century Secret Rare at €40.04.

Grading and population

A PSA 10 sells for 5.9× the ungraded price and 6.5× a PSA 9. That gap is big enough that grading a sharp, well-centred copy can pay for itself. Modern foils can leave the pack with scratches, print lines or a slight curl, so even fresh copies do not always reach a 10.

Investment potential

In its favour: a price well below its November 2023 peak, which some collectors see as room to recover; lasting fame from the anime or the competitive game; an active market (29 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Treat this as background, not a prediction or financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €12.43 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €11.17. Ask the seller to show the code RA01-EN008 and the Ultimate Rare finish clearly in the photos, as listing titles often mix up printings. Modern foils can be scratched or curled straight from the pack, so check the surface under a light if you plan to grade.
