Majestic Dawn Booster Box guide

What's inside the Majestic Dawn Booster Box

A sealed Majestic Dawn Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Majestic Dawn, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.

About Majestic Dawn

Introduced Leafeon and Glaceon to the card game alongside Dialga. Released on 1 May 2008, it belongs to the EX, Diamond & Pearl and HeartGold SoulSilver years, whose sealed product is now scarce. It came out 18 years ago, so most sealed stock has been opened and what is left sits with collectors.

Majestic Dawn has 100 cards in its main numbering.

The cards a Majestic Dawn Booster Box can hold

The Majestic Dawn cards collectors most want to pull are Leafeon LV.X and Glaceon LV.X. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 4 LV.X, 14 Holo Rares and 20 Rares. Prices for every card are on the Majestic Dawn set page.

Is the Majestic Dawn Booster Box a good investment?

After 18 years, sealed Majestic Dawn booster boxes rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Leafeon LV.X, the set's headline card, since sealed Majestic Dawn tends to move with it.

None of this is financial advice: sealed prices can fall as well as rise. Our guide should you buy sealed Pokémon products? weighs up both sides.

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Majestic Dawn Booster Box at around €112,159, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). For product this old, ask whether it has been checked by an authenticator: fakes and resealed vintage boxes are made to fool buyers. Compare the total with delivery, not just the price, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
