Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box

Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box guide

What's inside the Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box

Inside a sealed Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box you get 8 booster packs plus card sleeves, energy cards, dice, condition markers and a storage box. The packs are all Dragon Majesty.

Pokémon Center exclusive ETBs come with extra packs and a stamped promo and sell for more, so they are left out of the prices here.

Dragon Majesty is a special set with no regular booster box, so elite trainer boxes are one of the main ways to buy it sealed.

About Dragon Majesty

A special Dragon-type set with no booster box, sold in Elite Trainer Boxes, boxes and blisters. Released on 7 September 2018, it belongs to the Sun & Moon era. 8 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Dragon Majesty has 70 cards in its main numbering, plus 8 secret rares numbered beyond it.

Chase cards to look for

The Dragon Majesty cards collectors most want to pull are Ultra Necrozma GX, Switch Raft, Fiery Flint, Dragon Talon and White Kyurem GX. 8 packs is a modest number of tries, so most ETBs are bought to collect or keep sealed rather than to chase one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 8 Secret Rares, 12 Ultra Rares and 12 Rares. See every Dragon Majesty card price for what each is worth.

Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box price today

Right now the cheapest Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box on eBay costs €1,300 including delivery to Germany, and the typical asking price across 6 listings is €1,442 (ebay.de from €1,596, ebay.com from €1,300).

Asking prices are what sellers hope to get, not what elite trainer boxes actually sell for, so treat the cheapest listing as the benchmark for a fair deal.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 8 packs in a Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box works out at €180.24, compared with €162.20 in a Dragon Majesty Booster Pack. That makes it the most expensive way to buy Dragon Majesty packs right now, partly because you also pay for the accessories and the box itself.

Dragon Majesty Elite Trainer Box as an investment

Older sealed product tends to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks, and Dragon Majesty is now 8 years past release. Its price still depends on demand for its chase cards and on any reprints. ETBs are popular to keep sealed because of their box art, but they take more space than they hold in packs. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Ultra Necrozma GX and Switch Raft: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on elite trainer boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €1,442 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. Check the listing photos show the ETB itself and not only the packs, and that it is the standard version rather than a Pokémon Center one if you are comparing prices. Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
