What's inside the Brilliant Stars Booster Box

A sealed Brilliant Stars Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Brilliant Stars, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.

About Brilliant Stars

Introduced Pokémon VSTAR and the Trainer Gallery, with Charizard VSTAR and an alternate art Charizard V. Released on 25 February 2022, it belongs to the Sword & Shield era, when the collecting boom pushed print runs to record levels. It is past its main print window, so sealed stock is getting harder to find at retail.

Brilliant Stars has 172 cards in its main numbering, plus 14 secret rares numbered beyond it, and a 30-card Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery subset.

What collectors open Brilliant Stars for

The Brilliant Stars cards collectors most want to pull are Charizard V, Charizard VSTAR and Arceus VSTAR. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 16 Secret Rares, 37 Ultra Rares and 3 VMAX. Prices for every card are on the Brilliant Stars set page.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Brilliant Stars Booster Box works out at €17.88, compared with €24.59 in a Brilliant Stars Elite Trainer Box and €32.80 in a Brilliant Stars Booster Pack. That makes it the cheapest way to buy Brilliant Stars packs sealed right now.

Is the Brilliant Stars Booster Box a good investment?

Brilliant Stars is out of its main print run, the stage where sealed prices often start to move, but modern sets are printed in large numbers and can be reprinted. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Charizard V, the set's headline card, since sealed Brilliant Stars tends to move with it.

Only buy a Brilliant Stars Booster Box to hold if you are happy to keep it either way, as prices can fall too. This is not financial advice; see should you buy sealed Pokémon products?

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Brilliant Stars Booster Box at around €643.51, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Always compare totals with delivery included, and keep sealed product away from sunlight, heat and damp once it arrives.
