Why Use Search Cards? Smarter Pokémon & Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Price Research
The first price you see for a card is rarely the whole story. The same Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh! card can be listed at very different prices depending on the marketplace, the seller, the grade and the edition. Search Cards puts what cards have actually sold for next to what is available now, so you can judge a price before you pay it.
Search Cards is a free research tool that shows, for supported Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, what they have sold for at each grade, how their price has moved and the cheapest live eBay listings, plus live prices for sealed Pokémon products and a graded-card certificate checker. It helps you avoid overpaying and spot listings worth a closer look. It does not sell cards, authenticate them or guarantee the lowest price anywhere online.
The problem with checking only one marketplace
Sellers can ask very different amounts for the same card, and the gap widens once condition, grading company, grade, language and edition differ. If you only look at one marketplace, or one livestream, you have no way of knowing whether a price is fair, high or a genuine bargain.
Independent research makes comparisons meaningful. That is true whether you buy on eBay, Amazon, TikTok, Whatnot or a local shop.
Real sales provide a useful reality check
Search Cards’ price guide is based on completed sales, shown alongside live eBay listings for supported cards. Completed sales show what buyers have actually paid, rather than what sellers hope to receive. Our guide to using sold listings for Pokémon prices explains why that difference matters.
Even historical sales are not a guarantee of current value. Prices move with new set releases, reprints, tournament results and collector demand, so look at the trend in the price history rather than a single number. See how Pokémon card prices change over time.
Compare graded and ungraded cards correctly
Each card page shows values by grade, including ungraded, PSA, CGC, BGS and SGC. Compare the same grading company and the same grade. A PSA 10, a CGC 10 and a BGS 9.5 are not automatically worth the same, and an ungraded card described as “mint” is still an ungraded card. Read PSA vs CGC vs BGS and PSA 9 vs PSA 10 for why the differences can be large.
Find competitive listings in one research journey
Search Cards aims to make finding and pricing a card quicker. Search by name, browse prices by set, or use the scan icon in the search bar to identify a card with your camera. Card pages show the cheapest live Buy It Now listings we can find on eBay next to the sold-price guide, and our value checker flags whether the lowest listing is a great deal, below market or a fair price compared with what the card typically sells for.
Always confirm availability, postage, tax, condition and the final price on the seller’s own checkout page before you buy.
Use the Card Checker as one part of due diligence
For graded cards, enter the certificate number into the Card Checker and compare the returned details with the slab you are looking at: card, year, set and grade should all match. Then confirm the result with the grading company itself. Our guide to checking a PSA certification number walks through it.
A valid certificate number alone does not establish that a particular physical card or slab is authentic, because a genuine number can be copied onto a fake holder. Learn how to spot a fake graded slab as well.

A safer research process, not a blanket purchase guarantee
Search Cards is a research and comparison tool. Whether a purchase is safe depends on the actual seller, the payment method, delivery, returns and any marketplace protections. Search Cards does not process purchases, independently authenticate listings or guarantee the lowest price anywhere online. Its job is to help you ask better questions before you pay.
Practical example: comparing a graded card
Suppose two sellers offer the same card in PSA 9. One asks €110 plus €15 postage (€125 in total) and the other €119 with postage included. The second offer is €6 cheaper overall. Now check the sold-price guide: if recent PSA 9 sales sit around €115, both offers are close to market value and neither is a steal.
Price alone should not decide it, though. If the first seller has clearer photos, a cert number that checks out and better buyer protection, paying €6 more may be the better decision. These figures are an illustration, not a real market quote.
For buyers and sellers alike
Buyers can use comparative research to avoid overpaying, set a sensible ceiling for auctions and livestreams, and make fair offers. Sellers can use recent sales and competing listings to set realistic asking prices and reserves, while allowing for condition, fees and demand. See how to price a graded Pokémon card.
Search first, then buy with confidence in your research
Use Search Cards to investigate the card and compare the data, then complete the purchase with a seller whose terms and protections you understand. The benefit is a better-informed decision, not a promise about every card or marketplace.
Frequently asked questions
What is Search Cards?
Search Cards is a free price-research site for Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. For supported cards it shows values at each grade based on completed sales, price history and the cheapest live eBay listings, plus live prices for sealed Pokémon products and a graded-card certificate checker.
Does Search Cards sell cards directly?
No. Search Cards provides price research and listing discovery. Buy links take you to the marketplace, so check the destination listing to see who the seller is and what terms apply.
Does Search Cards always find the absolute cheapest card?
No comparison service can guarantee complete market coverage or the lowest price at every moment. Use it to compare the listings it covers, then confirm the final delivered cost before buying.
Can Search Cards authenticate a graded card?
No. The Card Checker helps you compare a certificate number with the grading company’s records, which can reveal discrepancies. Physical authenticity of the card and holder needs further checks.
Is Search Cards useful for sellers?
Yes. Recent sold prices and competing live listings help sellers set a realistic asking price or auction reserve, after allowing for condition, fees and demand.
