Ultra Prism Booster Pack guide

What's inside the Ultra Prism Booster Pack

Each Ultra Prism Booster Pack is a single foil pack of 10 cards, with at least one rare from Ultra Prism.

About Ultra Prism

Introduced Prism Star cards and the Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane forms of Necrozma. Released on 2 February 2018, it belongs to the Sun & Moon era. 8 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Ultra Prism has 156 cards in its main numbering, plus 17 secret rares numbered beyond it.

Chase cards to look for

The Ultra Prism cards collectors most want to pull are Dawn Wings Necrozma-GX and Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX. Any one pack can hold them, but most packs will not: buying the single card is usually cheaper than opening for it.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 17 Secret Rares, 25 Ultra Rares and 42 Rares. See every Ultra Prism card price for what each is worth.

Ultra Prism Booster Pack price today

Right now the cheapest Ultra Prism Booster Pack on eBay costs €60.24 including delivery to Germany, and the typical asking price across 16 listings is €91.98 (ebay.co.uk from €60.24, ebay.com from €71.63).

These are live asking prices, not completed sales, so a good offer is usually close to the cheapest listing rather than the typical one.

Price per pack

At the typical price, an Ultra Prism Booster Pack costs €91.98, compared with €61.82 in an Ultra Prism Booster Box and €176.86 in an Ultra Prism Elite Trainer Box. That makes it mid-priced among Ultra Prism sealed products.

Ultra Prism Booster Pack as an investment

Older sealed product tends to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks, and Ultra Prism is now 8 years past release. Its price still depends on demand for its chase cards and on any reprints. Single packs are the easiest to resell but also the most likely to have been searched or weighed. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Dawn Wings Necrozma-GX and Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Only buy an Ultra Prism Booster Pack to hold if you are happy to keep it either way, as prices can fall too. This is not financial advice; see should you buy sealed Pokémon products?

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on packs is tight and crimped evenly at both ends, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. Avoid "weighed" or searched packs from bulk sellers: some sellers weigh packs to pull the holos out first. Always compare totals with delivery included, and keep sealed product away from sunlight, heat and damp once it arrives.
