Triumphant Booster Box guide

What's inside the Triumphant Booster Box

Each Triumphant Booster Box is a factory-sealed display of 36 sealed booster packs, every one of them from Triumphant.

About Triumphant

The last main HeartGold SoulSilver set, with Palkia & Dialga and Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND. Released on 3 November 2010, it belongs to the EX, Diamond & Pearl and HeartGold SoulSilver years, whose sealed product is now scarce. 16 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Triumphant has 102 cards in its main numbering, plus 1 secret rare numbered beyond it.

Chase cards to look for

The Triumphant cards collectors most want to pull are Palkia & Dialga LEGEND, Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND, Yanmega, Mew and Magnezone. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 4 LEGENDs, 8 Prime and 12 Holo Rares. See every Triumphant card price for what each is worth.

Triumphant Booster Box price today

Right now the cheapest Triumphant Booster Box on eBay costs €53,450 including delivery to Germany, and the typical asking price across 3 listings is €53,787 (ebay.co.uk from €53,787, ebay.com from €53,450).

Asking prices are what sellers hope to get, not what booster boxes actually sell for, so treat the cheapest listing as the benchmark for a fair deal.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Triumphant Booster Box works out at €1,494, compared with €536.78 in a Triumphant Booster Pack. That makes it the most expensive way to buy Triumphant packs right now.

Triumphant Booster Box as an investment

After 16 years, sealed Triumphant booster boxes rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Palkia & Dialga LEGEND and Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €53,787 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). For product this old, ask whether it has been checked by an authenticator: fakes and resealed vintage boxes are made to fool buyers. Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
