What's inside the Secret Wonders Booster Pack

One sealed Secret Wonders Booster Pack contains a random selection of 9 to 11 cards, with at least one rare, all from Secret Wonders.

About Secret Wonders

A Diamond & Pearl set with more LV.X cards and Sinnoh legends. Released on 1 November 2007, it belongs to the EX, Diamond & Pearl and HeartGold SoulSilver years, whose sealed product is now scarce. It came out 19 years ago, so most sealed stock has been opened and what is left sits with collectors.

Secret Wonders has 132 cards in its main numbering.

What collectors open Secret Wonders for

The Secret Wonders cards collectors most want to pull are Venusaur, Suicune, Salamence, Roserade and Raikou. Any one pack can hold them, but most packs will not: buying the single card is usually cheaper than opening for it.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 2 LV.X, 20 Holo Rares and 24 Rares. Prices for every card are on the Secret Wonders set page.

Is the Secret Wonders Booster Pack a good investment?

After 19 years, sealed Secret Wonders booster packs rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Single packs are the easiest to resell but also the most likely to have been searched or weighed. Watch the price of Venusaur, the set's headline card, since sealed Secret Wonders tends to move with it.

None of this is financial advice: sealed prices can fall as well as rise. Our guide should you buy sealed Pokémon products? weighs up both sides.

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on packs is tight and crimped evenly at both ends; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. Avoid "weighed" or searched packs from bulk sellers: some sellers weigh packs to pull the holos out first. For product this old, ask whether it has been checked by an authenticator: fakes and resealed vintage boxes are made to fool buyers. Compare the total with delivery, not just the price, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
