Scarlet & Violet Booster Box guide

What's inside the Scarlet & Violet Booster Box

A sealed Scarlet & Violet Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Scarlet & Violet, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.

About Scarlet & Violet

Opened the Scarlet & Violet series, bringing back lowercase Pokémon ex and introducing Special Illustration Rares. Released on 31 March 2023, it belongs to the Scarlet & Violet era. It is past its main print window, so sealed stock is getting harder to find at retail.

Scarlet & Violet has 198 cards in its main numbering, plus 60 secret rares numbered beyond it.

What collectors open Scarlet & Violet for

The Scarlet & Violet cards collectors most want to pull are Miraidon ex, Koraidon ex and Gardevoir ex. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 6 Hyper Rares, 10 Special Illustration Rares and 24 Illustration Rares. Prices for every card are on the Scarlet & Violet set page.

That makes it the cheapest way to buy Scarlet & Violet packs sealed right now.

Is the Scarlet & Violet Booster Box a good investment?

Scarlet & Violet is out of its main print run, the stage where sealed prices often start to move, but modern sets are printed in large numbers and can be reprinted. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Miraidon ex, the set's headline card, since sealed Scarlet & Violet tends to move with it.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Scarlet & Violet Booster Box at around €168.00, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Check whether delivery from ebay.co.uk adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
