What's inside the Primal Clash Booster Box

A sealed Primal Clash Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Primal Clash, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.

About Primal Clash

Introduced Primal Reversion and Ancient Traits, with Primal Kyogre-EX and Primal Groudon-EX. Released on 4 February 2015, it belongs to the Black & White and XY era. It came out 11 years ago, so most sealed stock has been opened and what is left sits with collectors.

Primal Clash has 160 cards in its main numbering, plus 4 secret rares numbered beyond it.

What collectors open Primal Clash for

The Primal Clash cards collectors most want to pull are Primal Kyogre-EX and Primal Groudon-EX. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 4 Secret Rares, 28 Ultra Rares and 43 Rares. Prices for every card are on the Primal Clash set page.

Primal Clash Booster Box price today

There is 1 matching listing on eBay at the moment (ebay.com from €5,874). The lowest total with delivery to Germany is €5,874, against a typical asking price of €5,874.

Asking prices are what sellers hope to get, not what booster boxes actually sell for, so treat the cheapest listing as the benchmark for a fair deal.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Primal Clash Booster Box works out at €163.17, compared with €13.38 in a Primal Clash Elite Trainer Box and €128.34 in a Primal Clash Booster Pack. That makes it the most expensive way to buy Primal Clash packs right now.

Is the Primal Clash Booster Box a good investment?

After 11 years, sealed Primal Clash booster boxes rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Primal Kyogre-EX, the set's headline card, since sealed Primal Clash tends to move with it.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Primal Clash Booster Box at around €5,874, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
