Plasma Freeze Booster Box guide

What's inside the Plasma Freeze Booster Box

Each Plasma Freeze Booster Box is a factory-sealed display of 36 sealed booster packs, every one of them from Plasma Freeze.

About Plasma Freeze

The second Team Plasma set, adding more Plasma Pokémon and ACE SPECs. Released on 8 May 2013, it belongs to the Black & White and XY era. 13 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Plasma Freeze has 116 cards in its main numbering, plus 6 secret rares numbered beyond it.

The cards a Plasma Freeze Booster Box can hold

The Plasma Freeze cards collectors most want to pull are Ultra Ball, Max Potion, Garchomp, Garbodor and Sigilyph. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 6 Secret Rares, 8 Ultra Rares and 44 Rares. See every Plasma Freeze card price for what each is worth.

Plasma Freeze Booster Box price today

Right now the cheapest Plasma Freeze Booster Box on eBay costs €35,952 including delivery to Germany, and the typical asking price across 1 listing is €35,952 (ebay.de from €35,952).

Bear in mind these are asking prices rather than sold prices: sellers at the top of the range often accept offers or wait a long time to sell.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Plasma Freeze Booster Box works out at €998.67, compared with €542.99 in a Plasma Freeze Booster Pack. That makes it the most expensive way to buy Plasma Freeze packs right now.

Plasma Freeze Booster Box as an investment

After 13 years, sealed Plasma Freeze booster boxes rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Ultra Ball and Max Potion: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

None of this is financial advice: sealed prices can fall as well as rise. Our guide should you buy sealed Pokémon products? weighs up both sides.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €35,952 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Compare the total with delivery, not just the price, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
