Plasma Blast Booster Box guide

What's inside the Plasma Blast Booster Box

A sealed Plasma Blast Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Plasma Blast, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.

About Plasma Blast

The last Team Plasma set, with Genesect-EX. Released on 14 August 2013, it belongs to the Black & White and XY era. It came out 13 years ago, so most sealed stock has been opened and what is left sits with collectors.

Plasma Blast has 101 cards in its main numbering, plus 4 secret rares numbered beyond it.

Chase cards to look for

The Plasma Blast cards collectors most want to pull are Genesect-EX. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 4 Secret Rares, 6 Ultra Rares and 36 Rares. Prices for every card are on the Plasma Blast set page.

Plasma Blast Booster Box price today

There is 1 matching listing on eBay at the moment (ebay.com from €66,761). The lowest total with delivery to Germany is €66,761, against a typical asking price of €66,761.

Bear in mind these are asking prices rather than sold prices: sellers at the top of the range often accept offers or wait a long time to sell.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Plasma Blast Booster Box works out at €1,854, compared with €10.34 in a Plasma Blast Elite Trainer Box and €17.68 in a Plasma Blast Booster Pack. That makes it the most expensive way to buy Plasma Blast packs right now.

Is the Plasma Blast Booster Box a good investment?

After 13 years, sealed Plasma Blast booster boxes rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Genesect-EX, the set's headline card, since sealed Plasma Blast tends to move with it.

None of this is financial advice: sealed prices can fall as well as rise. Our guide should you buy sealed Pokémon products? weighs up both sides.

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Plasma Blast Booster Box at around €66,761, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Compare the total with delivery, not just the price, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
