What's inside the Lost Thunder Booster Box
A sealed Lost Thunder Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Lost Thunder, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.
About Lost Thunder
One of the largest Sun & Moon sets, with Lugia-GX and Zeraora-GX. Released on 2 November 2018, it belongs to the Sun & Moon era. It came out 8 years ago, so most sealed stock has been opened and what is left sits with collectors.
Lost Thunder has 214 cards in its main numbering, plus 22 secret rares numbered beyond it.
What collectors open Lost Thunder for
The Lost Thunder cards collectors most want to pull are Lugia-GX and Zeraora-GX. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.
Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 22 Secret Rares, 33 Ultra Rares and 66 Rares. Prices for every card are on the Lost Thunder set page.
Lost Thunder Booster Box price today
There are 3 matching listings on eBay at the moment (ebay.co.uk from €3,172, ebay.com from €3,739). The lowest total with delivery to Germany is €3,172, against a typical asking price of €3,221.
Bear in mind these are asking prices rather than sold prices: sellers at the top of the range often accept offers or wait a long time to sell.
Price per pack
At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Lost Thunder Booster Box works out at €89.47, compared with €76.96 in a Lost Thunder Booster Pack and €99.92 in a Lost Thunder Elite Trainer Box. That makes it mid-priced among Lost Thunder sealed products.
Is the Lost Thunder Booster Box a good investment?
Older sealed product tends to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks, and Lost Thunder is now 8 years past release. Its price still depends on demand for its chase cards and on any reprints. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Lugia-GX, the set's headline card, since sealed Lost Thunder tends to move with it.
None of this is financial advice: sealed prices can fall as well as rise. Our guide should you buy sealed Pokémon products? weighs up both sides.
Before you buy
Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Lost Thunder Booster Box at around €3,221, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Compare the total with delivery, not just the price, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
