What's inside the Dragon Booster Box
A sealed Dragon Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Dragon, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.
1st Edition and Unlimited booster boxes are both listed here, and 1st Edition sells for far more, so check the listing title before comparing prices.
About Dragon
Built around Dragon-type Pokémon, with Rayquaza ex as its centrepiece and the Charmander line as secret rares. Released on 24 November 2003, it belongs to the Wizards of the Coast era, when Pokémon cards first took off and print runs were far smaller than today. It came out 23 years ago, so most sealed stock has been opened and what is left sits with collectors.
Dragon has 97 cards in its main numbering, plus 3 secret rares numbered beyond it.
What collectors open Dragon for
The Dragon cards collectors most want to pull are Rayquaza ex, Salamence ex, Dragonite ex and Charizard. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.
Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 12 Holo Rares and 22 Rares. Prices for every card are on the Dragon set page.

Is the Dragon Booster Box a good investment?
Sealed Dragon is now a collector's item: very few unopened booster boxes survive, and each one opened makes the rest rarer. Condition and authenticity matter more than anything else at this age. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Rayquaza ex, the set's headline card, since sealed Dragon tends to move with it.
Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.
Before you buy
Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For a Dragon Booster Box at around €172,778, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). For product this old, ask whether it has been checked by an authenticator: fakes and resealed vintage boxes are made to fool buyers. Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
