Dragon Frontiers Booster Pack guide

What's inside the Dragon Frontiers Booster Pack

Each Dragon Frontiers Booster Pack is a single foil pack of a random selection of 9 to 11 cards, with at least one rare from Dragon Frontiers.

About Dragon Frontiers

Famous for its Gold Stars, Charizard ★ and Mew ★, and for Delta Species dragons. Released on 8 November 2006, it belongs to the EX, Diamond & Pearl and HeartGold SoulSilver years, whose sealed product is now scarce. 20 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Dragon Frontiers has 101 cards in its main numbering.

Chase cards to look for

The Dragon Frontiers cards collectors most want to pull are Charizard ★ and Mew ★. Any one pack can hold them, but most packs will not: buying the single card is usually cheaper than opening for it.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 40 Rares. See every Dragon Frontiers card price for what each is worth.

Dragon Frontiers Booster Pack price today

Right now the cheapest Dragon Frontiers Booster Pack on eBay costs €3,249 including delivery to Germany, and the typical asking price across 2 listings is €4,072 (ebay.com from €3,249).

Asking prices are what sellers hope to get, not what booster packs actually sell for, so treat the cheapest listing as the benchmark for a fair deal.

Dragon Frontiers Booster Pack as an investment

After 20 years, sealed Dragon Frontiers booster packs rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Single packs are the easiest to resell but also the most likely to have been searched or weighed. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Charizard ★ and Mew ★: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on packs is tight and crimped evenly at both ends, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €4,072 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. Avoid "weighed" or searched packs from bulk sellers: some sellers weigh packs to pull the holos out first. For product this old, ask whether it has been checked by an authenticator: fakes and resealed vintage boxes are made to fool buyers. Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
