Celestial Storm Booster Box guide

What's inside the Celestial Storm Booster Box

Each Celestial Storm Booster Box is a factory-sealed display of 36 sealed booster packs, every one of them from Celestial Storm.

About Celestial Storm

A Hoenn-themed Sun & Moon set with Rayquaza-GX. Released on 3 August 2018, it belongs to the Sun & Moon era. 8 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Celestial Storm has 168 cards in its main numbering, plus 15 secret rares numbered beyond it.

What collectors open Celestial Storm for

The Celestial Storm cards collectors most want to pull are Rayquaza-GX. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 15 Secret Rares, 28 Ultra Rares and 38 Rares. See every Celestial Storm card price for what each is worth.

Celestial Storm Booster Box price today

Right now the cheapest Celestial Storm Booster Box on eBay costs €2,670 including delivery to Germany, and the typical asking price across 7 listings is €2,848 (ebay.com from €2,670).

Asking prices are what sellers hope to get, not what booster boxes actually sell for, so treat the cheapest listing as the benchmark for a fair deal.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in a Celestial Storm Booster Box works out at €79.10, compared with €6.05 in a Celestial Storm Elite Trainer Box and €101.83 in a Celestial Storm Booster Pack. That makes it mid-priced among Celestial Storm sealed products.

Celestial Storm Booster Box as an investment

Older sealed product tends to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks, and Celestial Storm is now 8 years past release. Its price still depends on demand for its chase cards and on any reprints. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Rayquaza-GX: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €2,848 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
