Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box

Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box guide

What's inside the Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box

Inside a sealed Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box you get 9 booster packs plus card sleeves, energy cards, dice, condition markers and a storage box. The packs are all Black Bolt.

Pokémon Center exclusive ETBs come with extra packs and a stamped promo and sell for more, so they are left out of the prices here.

Black Bolt is a special set with no regular booster box, so elite trainer boxes are one of the main ways to buy it sealed.

About Black Bolt

A special Unova-themed set released alongside White Flare, led by Zekrom ex. Released on 17 July 2025, it belongs to the Scarlet & Violet era. It is still a current set, so shops keep restocking it and prices are set by retail supply.

Black Bolt has 86 cards in its main numbering, plus 86 secret rares numbered beyond it.

What collectors open Black Bolt for

The Black Bolt cards collectors most want to pull are Zekrom ex. 9 packs is a modest number of tries, so most ETBs are bought to collect or keep sealed rather than to chase one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 7 Special Illustration Rares, 2 Black White Rares and 69 Illustration Rares. See every Black Bolt card price for what each is worth.

Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box as an investment

Modern sealed product is printed in large numbers and is often reprinted, so Black Bolt elite trainer boxes can stay flat or fall for years before supply dries up. ETBs are popular to keep sealed because of their box art, but they take more space than they hold in packs. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Zekrom ex: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

Past prices do not guarantee future ones, and this is not financial advice. Read should you buy sealed Pokémon products? for the pros and cons.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on elite trainer boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €196.66 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. Check the listing photos show the ETB itself and not only the packs, and that it is the standard version rather than a Pokémon Center one if you are comparing prices. Check whether delivery from ebay.com adds import fees, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
