Black & White Booster Pack guide

What's inside the Black & White Booster Pack

Each Black & White Booster Pack is a single foil pack of 10 cards, with at least one rare from Black & White.

About Black & White

Opened the Black & White series with the Unova Pokémon, led by Reshiram and Zekrom, and the first modern full art cards. Released on 25 April 2011, it belongs to the Black & White and XY era. 15 years on, most of its sealed stock has long been opened, and unopened product mostly changes hands between collectors.

Black & White has 114 cards in its main numbering, plus 1 secret rare numbered beyond it.

The cards a Black & White Booster Pack can hold

The Black & White cards collectors most want to pull are Reshiram and Zekrom. Any one pack can hold them, but most packs will not: buying the single card is usually cheaper than opening for it.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 1 Secret Rare, 2 Ultra Rares and 31 Rares. See every Black & White card price for what each is worth.

Black & White Booster Pack as an investment

After 15 years, sealed Black & White booster packs rarely come up, and prices tend to rise as boxes are opened and supply shrinks. Single packs are the easiest to resell but also the most likely to have been searched or weighed. Much of its sealed value rests on demand for Reshiram and Zekrom: if those cards rise, unopened product usually follows.

None of this is financial advice: sealed prices can fall as well as rise. Our guide should you buy sealed Pokémon products? weighs up both sides.

Before you buy

Check the shrink wrap: factory wrap on packs is tight and crimped evenly at both ends, and loose or glossy wrap can mean a resealed product. At €297.99 it is worth asking for photos of every side and buying from sellers with a long, positive history, since resealed and weighed product is common. Avoid "weighed" or searched packs from bulk sellers: some sellers weigh packs to pull the holos out first. Compare the total with delivery, not just the price, and store sealed product flat, out of sunlight and away from damp.
