Astral Radiance Booster Box guide

What's inside the Astral Radiance Booster Box

A sealed Astral Radiance Booster Box holds 36 sealed booster packs from Astral Radiance, the full display a shop would open to sell packs one by one.

About Astral Radiance

A Hisui-themed set with the Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia VSTAR and Radiant Pokémon. Released on 27 May 2022, it belongs to the Sword & Shield era, when the collecting boom pushed print runs to record levels. It is past its main print window, so sealed stock is getting harder to find at retail.

Astral Radiance has 189 cards in its main numbering, plus 27 secret rares numbered beyond it, and a 30-card Astral Radiance Trainer Gallery subset.

What collectors open Astral Radiance for

The Astral Radiance cards collectors most want to pull are Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR, Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR and Radiant Greninja. With 36 packs, a box gives you the most chances at them of any sealed product, though no box is guaranteed to hold any one card.

Our catalogue lists the set's rarest tiers as 29 Secret Rares, 3 Radiant Rares and 47 Ultra Rares. Prices for every card are on the Astral Radiance set page.

Price per pack

At the typical price, each of the 36 packs in an Astral Radiance Booster Box works out at €11.77, compared with €21.96 in an Astral Radiance Elite Trainer Box and €30.09 in an Astral Radiance Booster Pack. That makes it the cheapest way to buy Astral Radiance packs sealed right now.

Is the Astral Radiance Booster Box a good investment?

Astral Radiance is out of its main print run, the stage where sealed prices often start to move, but modern sets are printed in large numbers and can be reprinted. Booster boxes are the sealed product most collectors hold long term, as they are easy to store and to value. Watch the price of Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR, the set's headline card, since sealed Astral Radiance tends to move with it.

Only buy an Astral Radiance Booster Box to hold if you are happy to keep it either way, as prices can fall too. This is not financial advice; see should you buy sealed Pokémon products?

Before you buy

Look closely at the wrapping in the photos. Factory wrap on booster boxes has neat seams, often with Pokémon logos printed on it; baggy, shiny or uneven wrap is a common sign of a reseal. For an Astral Radiance Booster Box at around €423.57, ask the seller for photos of all sides and stick to accounts with plenty of positive feedback. A full box gives better odds than loose packs, and its value as a sealed item is easier to judge (how to value a sealed booster box). Always compare totals with delivery included, and keep sealed product away from sunlight, heat and damp once it arrives.
