Magmar [Reverse Holo] #16

Magmar [Reverse Holo] #16 collector guide

About Magmar [Reverse Holo] #16

Magmar (Reverse Holo) is card #16 from Korean VSTAR Universe, a Korean-language release, released on December 2, 2022. It is part of the Sword & Shield era (2020–2022), when the collecting boom pushed print runs to record levels.

Character and collecting appeal

Magmar can be approached as a character collectible and as an entry in its named release. For set builders, the exact card number matters; for character collectors, it helps distinguish this version from other appearances of the same Pokémon.

Version and identification

This guide covers the reverse holo version, where the foil covers the card body instead of the artwork. Other printings of Magmar [Reverse Holo] #16 in Korean VSTAR Universe are priced separately, so match the version exactly before comparing prices and check the printed number reads #16.

Investment potential

Against it: large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Modern cards often leave the pack with print lines or surface scratches, so check the surface under a light (spotting surface scratches). Ask for clear photographs of both sides, verify the exact release and variant, and check for damage that may not appear in the listing title.
