Version and identification

Look for the printed number #98 and the Japanese Terastal Festival set symbol to confirm you have this exact card, and check the text is Japanese.

Price history

Today an ungraded Morpeko #98 sells for about €1.34, a PSA 9 for €11.00 and a PSA 10 for €35.63. We have monthly prices for this card going back to December 2024. Over the last 12 months ungraded copies are up 51%, and down 19% in the last month. Its highest monthly ungraded value was €2.04 in December 2024, so it is 34% below that peak. PSA 10 copies have moved up 138% over the same 12 months.

Grading and population

PSA has graded 14 copies. 9 received a PSA 10 and 5 a PSA 9, a gem rate of 64.3%, which makes it one of the easier cards to grade a 10. With so few graded copies, every new PSA 10 can noticeably affect the price. A PSA 10 sells for 26.6× the ungraded price and 3.2× a PSA 9. That gap is small, so grading fees may outweigh the gain unless the card is for your own collection.

Investment potential

In its favour: steady demand, with ungraded prices up 51% in a year; an active market (33 recent completed sales), so it is easy to sell. Against it: a plentiful top grade, with 64.3% of graded copies already PSA 10; large modern print runs, which tend to cap prices unless a card becomes iconic. Card prices can fall as well as rise, so this is not financial advice.

Before you buy

Expect to pay around €1.34 for a clean ungraded copy; played copies sell for less, and a PSA 9 costs about €11.00. Modern cards often leave the pack with print lines or surface scratches, so check the surface under a light (spotting surface scratches). Ask for clear photographs of both sides, verify the exact release and variant, and check for damage that may not appear in the listing title.
